Archive for December, 2008

About this image:

This was an idea that hit me around 8pm the other night in the middle of a snow storm. So being the great mother I am, i offered my Daughter a new littlest pet shop toy if she would throw on her boots, some warm clothing and a tutu and run outside with me for 5 minutes. I think it’s one of my favorite images now of her, very different from my portrait work, but I just love it!

HOPE :

I have really been so blessed this year in both my business and personal life and I really want to give back! I would like for you to nominate a deserving family to receive a complimentary session and all of their images in a keepsake proof box. Write me a short email telling me WHY the family you have chosen would really benefit from this. The winner will be chosen by me and a several of my peers.

Please use this email : contact@heathermosher.com

Contest ends December 22nd.

Rebecca: Oh, and that picture is breathtaking. I love the light and how it halos her and brings out the snowflakes. Fantastic!

Stephanie T: I love this, it is such a beautiful picture :)

Terrilyn: Oh Heather that is seriously beautiful! I love the light and the symbolism of this image...breathtaking!

I’m so excited I can barley contain myself!!  The weather lately has just been so cold and rainy, making it almost impossible to be a natural light photographer in this state any more…so I had two alternatives..move to some gorgeous tropical island or find a natural light studio space to keep my little clients warm and cozy! Well..find one I did! Right in the heart of Long Vallery NJ!! It is in the Myhelan Cultural Arts Center, I am going to be in the top floor.

It is just so perfect, it is an older historical building with a quaint coffee shop downstairs, and it’s right next door to some fantastic antique shops. What else could I ask for?? Antiques,Coffee and photography!!

We are decorating the entire loft in white, to mimic some of the fantastic white loft studios I have used in Manhattan. (without the 3k day rates they charge..YAY!).  The session fee will be kept at $250 year round, however in honor of the grand opening I will be holding a short Holiday sale. You may Purchase a session at the loft for $150 and this can be used between 12/08-12/09. Keep in mind for 2009 to book ahead several months to ensure your desired date.

You may still book for 12/08 this year as I am re-opening the books for studio sessions only.

You may purchase your session gift card here :

And what is a post without pictures (not of the new studio…we can’t get in until after the 7th~) These were taken in Sleepy Hollow NY..what a fun day trip!!!

This is not a backdrop,he was actually sitting in front of a chicken..so cute..

Melissa M: COLOR ME JEALOUS!!! It sounds divine!!!

Jana Kunz: What a cutie! Congrats on the new studio!!

Alissa: Congrats on the studio - your work is beautiful!

PamN: I can't wait to see it...post pics as soon as you can!
